  Japan Alps to Japan Sea
This trip takes you to the Japanese alps to Japanese Sea area which is less visited by tourists by hopping traditional towns.
Highlights:
  • Okuhida: one of the most remarkable Onsen (hot spring) villages. You can enjoy open-air bath while listening to the murmur of the river. Stay in one of the best Ryokan in the area.
  • Hida Satoyama Cycling: Casual bike ride through the Japanese countryside, Satoyama, and meet locals
  • Shirakawa-go/Gokayama : You will be inspired by traditional wooden architectures gGassho-zukurih only exist in this snowy area.
  • Noto Peninsula: Beauty and peace flourish on the peninsula, where you can explore its wild natural beauty and its old fishing village lined with black roof tiles.
 
Day 1 Travel from Tokyo to Okuhida Onsen
  Travel to Okuhida Onsen from Tokyo
Okuhida Onsen-go area is situated at the base of the Japan Alps, the onsen here have some of the most dramatic settings you will find anywhere.
Stay in modern Japanese Ryokan and enjoy dinner set by irori fireplace.
Day 2 Enjoy Takayama  
  Enjoy morning bath and go to Takayama. Hida Takayama in the northern part of Gifu Prefecture is a castle town surrended by mountains. Takayama is best known for its carpenters, who worked on the imperial palace in Kyoto and on many of the temples in Nara. Like a few cities, Takayama has retained is full atmosphere of the Edo period thanks to its preserved old districts, temples, shrines, antique shops and sake breweries.
Day 3 Cycling through the countryside  
 

The 3-hour bike trail will give you the exposure to the country life in Hida.

Day4 Travel to Kanazawa via Shirakawa-go  
 

Shirakawa-go and Gokayama are the only places in Japan to enjoy traditional masterpieces called Gassho-zukuri houses.
After walikng in the Shirakawa-go, travel to Kanazawa.

Day5 Kanazawa  
  Kanazawa was a prosperous castle town for over 300 years and the best-preserved major Edo-period city in the country. Since the city has not suffered from any war devastation or big natural disaster, it maintains rows of historical houses and inherits traditional handicrafts and traditional performing arts. In kanazawa, you can see a lot of kinds of Japanese sweet affected by tea culture flourished since ancient.
Day6-7 Noto Peninsula  
  The Noto Peninsula, extending north and south, has two coastal areas: the northern part of the peninsula is called Oku-Noto, whose center is Wajima, noted for its production of a traditional Japanese handicraft, Wajima-nuri lacquerware. Sea salt locally harvested is also famous. The central and southern areas of Noto-hanto Peninsula has exposed bay eroded by high seas and a calmer area facing Nanao Bay, which creates dynamic coastal views.
Day8 Travel to your next destination via Kanazawa  
  Back to Kanazawa and go on to your next destination!
